How to Connect
Step 1: Determine the connection type required
- Apple CarPlay
- MirrorLink
- AppRadio Mode
Step 2: Change the setting option
Step 4: Connect
Apple CarPlay
- Ensure the device is set to 'iPhone' and connection is set to 'USB', ensure that 'CarPlay' is turned on
- Connect the iPhone to the Lightning connecter on the the connected USB cable. Apple CarPlay will automatically launch
Mirrorlink
- Ensure the device is set to 'Others' and connection is set to 'USB'
- Connect compatible mirrorlink device into USB port 2 (bottom port) on the rear of the SPH-DA120 with CD-MU200 cable
- Select the Apps icon, mirrorlink will launch.
AppRadio Mode
Install the AppRadio app onto the device from the AppStore/PlayStore, including any compatible apps that you wish to use.Compatible apps can be found by opening the AppRadio app and selecting the 'recommended apps' tab.
iPhone 4/4S
- Ensure the device is set to 'iPhone' and connection is set to 'USB'.
- Connect the iPhone into the iPhone connection plug from the CD-IU.201s connectivity kit.
- Press the ‘Apps’ button on the Home screen of the SPH-DA120.
- A push notification will appear on the iPhone asking to launch AppRadio. Select 'Yes' and AppRadio will now launch.
iPhone 5/5S/5C
- Ensure the device is set to 'iPhone' and connection is set to 'Digital AV Adapter'
- Before physically connecting the device, Bluetooth pair the iPhone to the SPH-DA120.
- After pairing, proceed to connect the iPhone to the lightning connection on the Digital AV Adapter.
- Press the ‘Apps’ button on the Home screen of the SPH-DA120.
- A push notification will appear on the iPhone asking to launch AppRadio. Select 'Yes' and AppRadio will now launch.
Android
- Ensure the device is set to 'Others' and connection is set to 'HDMI'
- Before physically connecting the device, Bluetooth pair the Android device to the SPH-DA120.
- After pairing, proceed to connect the device to the relevant Digital AV Adapter.
- Press the ‘Apps’ button on the Home screen of the SPH-DA120.
- A push notification will appear on the device asking to launch AppRadio. Select 'Yes' and AppRadio will now launch.

Q: How do I connect my phone?
A: Please see the Connectivity Cables section above and follow the diagrams to see what cables are required for connecting a phone.
Q: How do I change the 'App Connection' setting?
A: Please see the How To Connect section and follow the three steps one by one. You will not be able to adjust the app connection without first disconnecting all the sources.
Q: How do I use Mirror Link?
A: Make sure you are using a mirrorlink compatible device such as the Sony Xperia Z or Galaxy S3 (requires drivelink app installed from samsung apps).
Ensure the 'Smartphone settings' are set to 'Others' and 'Device connection' set to 'USB'.
Connect the phone using a CD-MU200 Mirrorlink cable, connected to USB port 2 (bottom) on the rear of the unit.
Select the mirrorlink app from the home screen of the SPH-DA120
