How to Connect

Step 1: Disconnect all sources

Please note: Before you can adjust the 'Apps Connection setting' you must:
Unplug any connected devices (including any connected Digital HDMI adapters).
Disconnect any devices connected via bluetooth.
Turn sources off via the units home screen.

Step 2: Prepare Settings

Step 3: Connect

Install the AppRadio app onto the device from the AppStore/PlayStore, including any compatible apps that you wish to use.
Compatible apps can be found by opening the AppRadio app and selecting the 'recommended apps' tab.

iPhone 4/4S

  1. Ensure the app connection setting is set to 'Others'.
  2. Connect the iPhone into the iPhone connection plug from the CD-IU201N connectivity kit.
  3. Press the ‘Apps’ button on the Home screen of the SPH-DA110.
  4. A push notification will appear on the iPhone asking to launch AppRadio. Select 'Yes' and AppRadio will now launch.

iPhone 5/5S/5C

  1. Ensure the App connection setting is set to ‘iPhone (digital AV)’.
  2. Before physically connecting the device, Bluetooth pair the iPhone to the SPH-DA110.
  3. After pairing, proceed to connect the iPhone to the lightning connection on the Digital AV Adapter.
  4. Press the ‘Apps’ button on the Home screen of the SPH-DA110.
  5. A push notification will appear on the iPhone asking to launch AppRadio. Select 'Yes' and AppRadio will now launch.

Android

  1. Ensure the App connection setting is set to ‘Others’.
  2. Before physically connecting the device, Bluetooth pair the Android device to the SPH-DA110.
  3. After pairing, proceed to connect the device to the relevant Digital AV Adapter.
  4. Press the ‘Apps’ button on the Home screen of the SPH-DA110.
  5. A push notification will appear on the iPhone asking to launch AppRadio. Select 'Yes' and AppRadio will now launch.

Q: How do I connect my phone?
A: Please see the Connectivity Cables section above and follow the diagrams to see what cables are required for connecting a phone.

Q: How do I change the 'App Connection' setting?
A: Please see the How To Connect section and follow the three steps one by one. You will not be able to adjust the app connection without first disconnecting all the sources.

Q: How do I use Mirror Link?
A: Make sure you are using a mirrorlink compatible device such as the Sony Xperia Z or Galaxy S3 (requires drivelink app).
Ensure the 'App Connection' setting is set to 'Others'.
Connect the phone using the supplied CD-MU200 Mirrorlink cable (connected to the rear USB socket).
Select the mirrorlink app from the home screen of the SPH-DA110
